A few resources

Some days you feel God all around you, guiding each step. Others—

Today was acquisitions. Conference calls to publishers, agents, and other interested parties. Calgon, take me away.

But in the spirit of mutual support and friendly encouragement, I wanted to share some links I came across today that lifted my spirits. Each one has significant truths to offer for this journey toward becoming a “whole writer”—I’m starting to grapple with a definition of these spiritually-centered authentic creative Christian writers who are committed, sold-out, and destined to impact CBA and the world by redeeming every secular and profane influence that has crept in the back door.

The first is a great book on redeeming culture through a significant (and badly maligned, it seems) literary icon: Looking for God in Harry Potter, by John Granger

For those of you with Christian blogs, check out Adrian’s great ideas on building a Christian blog community.

And finally, tapping into our previous discussions on inductive Bible study, this is what the church fathers have to teach us about exploring the Bible.

Have a great week, everyone.

I just got my hands on a manuscript of Jesus in the Margins : Finding God in the Places We Ignore by Rick McKinley (You may know him as the pastor of Donald Miller Blue Like Jazz). It’s been amazing.
